Las Gorgonias

La Bombilla

La Bombilla, SC
United States
28° 35' 28.392" N, 17° 55' 4.8144" W

You can reach the "Gorgonians" zone in 25 meters depth, by moving approximately 40 meters out into the open sea from the boat landing point. As you dive down you can see the gigantic rocks stacked on top of each other like cookies on top of the black sand ground. It is a bizarre underwater world, unique to La Palma and not available on any of the other Canary Islands. Much like an underwater forest, the ground is covered with 1 meter high corals and red gorgonians.
Depth: Average 15 meters, maximum 45 meters
Access: Via the dirt road that leads south out of La Bombilla towards the lighthouse
Your Review: Currents in the area of the rock islands
