Directly in the bay of the harbor of Tazacorte, next to the outer protection wall, in 17 meters depth, rest the remains of the only shipwreck around La Palma, the Santa Úrsula. This stem-cargo-freighter caught on fire in the 1940s and sank.
Nowadays the hull is almost entirely covered in sand. It is often possible to see crayfish, brown shrimp, a cluster of french grunts, surinam grunts, lemon soles, parrot fish, muray eels and sea anemones.
